I love photographing people, young and old. It started the day I picked up my dad's old Voigtlander camera when I was about eight years old and with a bit of help from him started to take my own photographs - within a year or two I had become the in-house family photographer.

Over the years I have photographed many faces, some more famous than others but all unique and demanding in different ways. During that time I have developed a way of relaxing even the most camera-shy of subjects, transforming what for some has seemed a terrifying prospect into a really enjoyable experience that most have not wanted to end.  Having three children of my own I know how tricky it can be to get children to be themselves in front of the camera but they end up having as much fun as I do when taking the pictures.

My aim is to ensure that having your photographs taken will be a wonderful experience that you will want to repeat over the years as your family grows and changes.

An initial discussion over the phone and by email will help us both understand what you want from the session, whether that be a more formal portrait or a carefree lifestyle shoot at a location you love. We can talk about clothes and favourite toys or games the children enjoy, plan for a rainy day and wonder if the Grandparents would like to get involved - even the family pet is welcome!

A week or so after the shoot I will send you a link to your own on-line gallery where you can view the edited selection of photographs from your session - there will normally be 30 - 50 images to look at.  I will then arrange a time for us to talk through the edit and consider your options.  Many of my clients find the process of choosing which images to print, how to print, what size and style and where they might hang in their home probably the hardest part of the process but with my eye to guide you I know you will be happy with your choices.
